Do Democrats have Public Relations people who try to get them on TV?
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 06:16 PM by Dr Fate
I have a brand new, specific question in conjunction with the old thread from below. I cant get any straight answers or documentation from anyone- so how about this one specific inquiry.

Here is the question:

"Do Democrats have PR men who contact Cable & network TV show producers and ask for airtime?"

Now before anyone tells me to "shut up" or accuses me of "ranting" or "DEM bashing"- let me admit that I have no idea what the answer is- I have assumed they do, but lets clear this up once & for all.

I admit I have no proof one way or the other- but I would find it strange if they do not.

Once again:

"Do Democrats have PR men who contact cable & network TV show producers and ask for airtime?"

1. If they have, it is particularly inefficient.
I always see the two or three same ones (particularly Biden) and frankly do not understand the strategy here.

3. I would imagine Dean, Kerry and Hillary do have these people- but...
...I admit that I "dont know shit about the media"- so I could be wrong.

I agree with your post- but I'd love a definite answer from someone- Do Democrats have PR men who contact news shows and ask for air time?

6. I would too.
I would also imagine that if there is a pattern of being "banned" or "not allowed" on certain venues, that the DEMs would make an issue of it.

But I'm jumping ahead of myself- 1st we need to establish that they do indeed have folks who are at least ASKING for airtime.

Does anyone know?

2. I'm sure they do, but
the problem as I see it is that they are ALWAYS set against one or more republican talking heads who will jawbone all the available time or talk over any thing the Dem might be trying to say.

On a related note:

I am trying to get DU'ers help in getting this question out to the media to ask ANY republican (the VP would be great, but any other GOP'er would do). So far the post has been ignored. I think it is a straight forward simple question that goes to the heart of what happened last week. Here's the link, you be the judge, Dr. Fate:

5. True- but the average DUer argues against 3 repubs at once all the time...
...the issue is not the difficulty of arguing on those shows- the issue is ACCESS to those shows.

And there also one-on one interviews as well. I wonder if DEMs have PR men who request air-time on those shows. Does anyone know?

I am trying to figure out the mystery of ACCESS to these shows.

9. That IS the final question. We need to answer the other ones first.
It is quite possible that the media turns down requests for interview airtime for major Democrats on cable & network shows.

I would not doubt it- but I want to know for sure that DEMs are at least ASKING.

If they have PR people who are ASKING for it, then we can make the case that they are being "banned" or "censored" as many DUers suggest.

Does anyone know?

14. I have no idea. How does he?
Does he have his PR people call, or does he wait to be invited- or is it both?

I have no clue.

You think Bernie Sanders doesn't have PR people?

Every congresscritter has PR people.

I think you're at the last question. (see header on post #8)

17. Not quite yet- Are those PR people being turned down?
Are the Kerry, Dean etc people being turned down when they request interview time?

Do we have some kind of documentation for this?

20. Like Hillary's FOUR TV appearances in the past 2 days?
Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 09:13 PM by Dr Fate
Or Obama's appearance on Larry King?

I have no idea whether thay were "invited" or whether they had PR people book them.

Seeing them does not answer that question.

NOT seeing Kerry does not clue me in to whether his PR folks ASKED tif he could be on TV or not.

15. maybe you are asking the wrong people?
unless there are congressional pr folk here, how would we know?

i remember many times DU'ers were saying that the Dem congresscritters should NOT go on the MSM and be subjected to the odious slant and gang tactics used against them when they are on the shows.

 hell i don't know. just a guess.

i didn't read all the answers to the posts you asked in earlier, and only came to this thread from your latest:

Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 09:08 PM by Dr Fate
If we should not go on shows-if we think we cant debate idiots like Hannity- that is one thing- but DUers are saying that you "have to be invited on" and that there is an effort to essentially "ban" Kerry, Dean etc from certain shows.

I've seen zero proof.
