2. maybe, maybe no....does it matter? |

I think this fury is building against Bush. Brown is a small matter relative to the anger the people feel toward Bush and his entire criminal administration.

3. It's actually a relatively small matter. But I find it astounding that |
|
shrubco would try to go a whole 8 years and never even ONCE fire anyone, make them take the blame for ANYTHING, other than over loyalty issues like Paul O'Neill.

Edited on Thu Sep-08-05 06:30 PM by skooooo
that Brownie will probably "resign" in order not to be a "distraction" to the administration.
That sounds plausible, but they are all so arrogant, who knows?

19. by bush standards he was magnificent |
|
He never disagreed with bush, he gave bush all the deference he needs and he is a neocon. Those factors alone entitle him to a medal.
I am convinced that he will get the same award that Tenet and Bremer received.

15. 'Brownie' is very much like the chimp. A fratboy out of his depth, picked |
|
for his job for entirely political reasons having nothing to do with competency or leadership abilities. Chimp probably identifies strongly with him.

12. The window of opportunity to fire Brown has passed... |
|
Bush* can't fire him now because he (Bush*) would take too much heat. I expect Brown will simply be placed on a shelf and never spoken of again by Bushco.

16. Why would Brownie get fired? |
|
His boss thinks he's doing a heckuva job, and I haven't seen anything anywhere that tells me Bush has changed his opinion on the matter.
You get fired when you do what the boss doesn't like. Brownie's boss really, REALLY liked the way po' folks were wiped out in New Orleans through Brownie's ineptitude.

21. Asking if Brown will be fired assumes Bush hired him to run FEMA as... |
|
a humanitarian disaster-relief agency. But what if Bush hired Brown for an entirely different purpose: to run a vote-buying campaign before the 2004 election and, afterward, to reward Republican areas (as he has done in Florida, Mississippi and Alabama) and punish Democratic ones -- punish them or, worse, subject them to the political and socioeconomic "cleansing" of deliberate genocide-by-neglect. In this context, reflect on Bush's repeated comments that Brown is doing a superb job: given the Bush policy of ever-intensifying class warfare, these comments are no doubt absolutely (and horrifically) true.

I believe when Bush declares himself Emperor, Brown will be the next Secretary of State. He may not be brown, but his name is good enough to allow him to slide in after winning the Nobel Peace Prize and Presidential Medal of being a kick ass good guy.

BushCo NEVER admits mistakes. To either fire Brownie or accept his resignation would be the first exception to this rule. It would be highly significant, as would the choice of his successor. An experienced emergency manager, anyone? This choice itself, a no-brainer, would be a de facto admission of incomptetence in choosing Brownie in the first place.
BushCo is against the wall here, big time. That's why Pelosi is on it. It's politics in a time of tragedy, but it's politics for a noble purpose.
