Is it possible Rush was dealing painkillers?
God knows why, because he's got enough money to last three lifetimes, but I read that he went through 4,700 pills in something like 48 days or something like that.Theres no way he alone could have taken thm all.Just thought maybe he was dealing as well.

IMO, this will more than likely blow over (lets not forget,he's a republican & we all know bad things NEVER happen to republicans)Besides, Jeb will end any investigation if it makes Rush look bad.Hope I'm wrong, but I really think Rush will get a slap on the wrist!

1. I've speculated he could have been a "mule" for higher ups...
who wouldn't know how to get the pills themselves without risking their politcal careers.

10. He bought incredible amounts from Cline - and he had other suppliers..
Edited on Sat Oct-04-03 11:53 AM by Junkdrawer
But sources close to the investigation told Fox News that Limbaugh had other drug suppliers and said the popular conservative personality could face a criminal inquiry by the Palm Beach County state attorney's office.

...

The investigation apparently began as a probe into the illegal sale of prescription painkillers in South Florida that targeted dealers. But later investigators came across Limbaugh through clues gathered in a bust in Palm Beach County in May, revealing him as a buyer.

One source told Fox News that Limbaugh was implicated by Cline and her husband David, and also by “other suppliers” whom the source did not name. The Enquirer paid the Clines a six-figure fee for their story, according to the source.

Asked about the culpability of Limbaugh, the source said that he could still face charges for having a large quantity of prescription painkillers without a prescription, but the source added that no charges are imminent.

2. So their is a possibility that
more republicans are using oxycontin? Rush was the midddle-man...Makes a lot of sense to me. There has to be some stool-pigeon in South Fla. who is willing to speak up, for immunity and cash in a brown envelope.

3. I honeslty dont hitnk he was....
I read in another thread a few days ago that he was popping something like 100 pills a day, and apparently he only bought about 4500 according to his house keeper who was buying them for him. At that rate he would have ran out a while ago.

9. you can not pop 100 oxy contins a day without dying
I find that so hard to beleive. I don't care how much tollerance you built up. I could be wrong but that seems impossible.

4. I think they were for "personal" use
Addicts think in funny ways. One thing many addicts do, to make sure they have "enough" drugs, is to buy a lot and stash it away.

Rush, being as rich as Croesus, decided that he needed over 5000 pills for his stash. And remember, he was taking over 100 pills a day at some points.

I'd like to see Rush face several hundred years in prison, and be sentenced to rehab. It would immediately put pressure on the Drug Warriors, and highlight the discrepancies in punishment of the privileged vs the common man.

I wish the man well with his struggle against addiction, but as a political figure, I hope this becomes a spectacle, and a painful one for the Right.

5. I don't know about that
Johnny Cash at the height of his addiction was taking about 100 pills a day.
And when you think about the chemcial hellbroth that Elvis was putting into his body every damn day 100 or pills a day for an addict who has built up a tollerance for the drug and who is as physcially big as Rush is (it makes a differnce) is not out of the question.

11. I've read that he quit a few times, even went to rehab...
...perhaps he was dumping his stash and then relapsing (and re-upping his stash). Or, perhaps he was squirrelling away so he wouldn't need to be pulling these "clandestine" transactions. Dealers aren't the pill manufacturers, they can only deliver so much at a time.

I admit that it's enough to cast some doubt (or for delusional freepers, exonerate Rush and implicate a DNC plot), to at least question the woman's accuracy. Still, I haven't read anywhere that he was using the pills at that rate, just purchasing them in those quantities.
