How is this for a 'feel good' story?
My sister in CA wanted to do something but felt helpless because she wasn't anywhere (she thought)near to help.
Long story, but I just had 14 BIG boxes sent to TX from my sis and her friends in CA, for delivery at a collection center in Houston.
The love won't quit, thankfully. O8)

4. My sister recently graduated with a degree in counseling
(late life career change) and she has not done her hours with observation yet. She thought there was nothing she could do, was afraid that she couldn't handle going to one of the bigger centers to help. We talked a long time about it and she called the red cross to see if she could do anything, answer phones, process envelopes ... anything. To her surprise, they want her to handle some counseling on the local level for them, and they will provide the observation that she needs to help her obtain her full license.

So, she had a skill but didn't think she could use it because of that hurdle. Because of one phone call, she gets to help other people and those people will be helping her right back. She called me tonight in tears and thanked me for the encouragement to make that first phone call because now she can help to make a difference right there in her own community.

Karma is a wonderful teacher, isn't it?

5. Good for your sis! She'll get to help, feel good about it,
and gain valuable experience! Win-win!
