About the CNN restraining order/lawsuit: anyone else? |
|
I'm just getting home and trying to catch up. This is very heartening news about the restraining order.
I'm wondering, have any other media outlets signed on to the suit or filed a different one? NYT, Washington Post, NBC, CBS, ABC, BBC.
Anyone?

1. The restraining order is for ALL media |
|
Thus spake Larry King a little earlier tonight. Apparently the suit was to keep the authorities from banning all media from filming tings. Also, this is just temporary, and the hearing to see if the injuction can be made permanent will be tomorrow.

I'm in Bizarro World.
I really and honestly thought checks and balances were dead for good in this nation. Executive and legislative: they're obviously as corrupt as can be. And even the judicial branch, with the continued detainment of Padilla, and all the other rulings for the Bush Admin, I thought we were cooked.
I'm so proud of CNN, and of many other newscasters I was cursing two weeks ago.
Thanks for the great information. By the way, what on earth is the government's argument that they will present? Why is it that the American people don't have the right to see what has happened in N.O.? I'm sure their rationale will be a big steaming pile of crap, but I'm curious anyway as to what it is.
Thanks.
