Riverbend is back!

After two months hiatus, Girl Blog from Bagdhad is back. Mostly just a quick hello today, says she'll have her take on the draft constitution tomorrow.

I was worried that she, like so many others, may have been arrested or come to harm, but it sounds like it was nothing so dire - just the summer doldrums.

am just tired. Aunt was sent to Alabama..then Florida...it's been a nightmare.

Aunt never had children.. it's my brother and me. Ok if I vent a bit re Riverbend? She's been venting for two years.

7. If she doesn't want to march on the constitution committee

and demand her rights as a liberated female, maybe it's because she isn't quite ready to die.

I have learned more about Iraqi life, and how the occupation is affecting it, from her than from any other source. She's bright, and brave, and overwhelmed as she sees her country disintegrating before her eyes.

Maybe you could move to Biloxi, and get a taste of what she's been dealing with for the past two years.

8. ahem.. I have dear friends in Baghdad

they lived with me for a summer..came to US to keep son out of army at age 15.. highly educated people.

son got busted for pot and entire family was extradited back to Iraq. I appreciate Riverbend and have emailed her many times re her plight.

But after this week..and my 82 yr old aunt being homeless.. have less compassion for her ventings. n'est pas?

edited to say.. aunt was in Gulfport and we went through hell finding her. I don't need to go to Biloxi asswipe
