Bush didn't go to NO because he was afraid of the black reaction. NYT
Edited on Sat Sep-10-05 09:57 AM by converted_democrat
-One prominent African-American supporter of Mr. Bush who is close to Karl Rove, the White House political chief, said the president did not go into the heart of New Orleans and meet with black victims on his first trip there, last Friday, because he knew that White House officials were "scared to death" of the reaction.

"If I'm Karl, do I want the visual of black people hollering at the president as if we're living in Rwanda?" said the supporter, who spoke only anonymously because he did not want to antagonize Mr. Rove.-

This is a snip from a NTY article. It is about half way down the page.

2. Bush couldn't pick his audience for this visit
The press needs to keep up the pressure and expose this idiot for who he really is. Finally.

18. She's probably on Rove's speed dial, IMHO
you can count on her to paint bu$h* in favorable vivid bold colors.

I read Buzzflash every day and first read this article there as well; however, it seems Bumiller is not portraying bu$h* in a bad light at all. It's all his handlers fault. She writes:

"The report was about the evacuees at the convention center, some dying and some already dead. Mr. Bush had been briefed that morning by his homeland security secretary, Michael Chertoff, who was getting much of his information from Mr. Brown and was not aware of what was occurring there. The news account was the first that the president and his top advisers had heard not only of the conditions at the convention center but even that there were people there at all."

Oh, puhleeze...no one buys that, Elisabeth.

8. Now wait a minute....
As soon as that storm hit the Bush PR dept. was working round the clock to assure that the President would be protected from his own glaring imcompetance.

11. This is significant. Here's why -
when have we ever heard of someone close to Karl Rove speaking out? NEVER. If others follow suit and leaks start flowing, they really are done.

19. Deeply telling
This individual gave their opinion - which not incidentally hits the nail right on the head - but is afraid that going off script will antagonize KKKarl. They are clearly afraid of the repercussions, even though they are "close" to Rove.

Now how many African Americans are "close" to that scumbucket? I'm guessing not many.

17. Thank you for pointing that out.....
I was so shocked about the comment that I did not even notice that part. It is indeed good news that people around Rove are starting to talk.

14. Won't take Rove more than 2 seconds to figure out who the leaker was.
How many prominent African-American supporters of Bush who are "close" to Karl Rove, AND have spoken to him within the past few days on this subject, are there? If the black guy is a prominent supporter of Bush, he has to be rolling in bucks, and if he's black, odds are overwhelming that he made his own fortune, and did not inherit it. Those identifiers narrow the suspects down to a very small group. Frankly, I'm surprised that KKKKKarl is close to any blacks, other than Condoleeza and Clarence.

16. How can there EVEN BE a Black supporter of bu$hler anymore?!?!?
That sorry son of a bitch, that Murderer Of The Poor, left the people of New Orleans to DROWN because they were the WRONG COLOR, went to the WRONG CHURCHES and did not VOTE RIGHT.

Any African American who can still support this Racist REPTILE is a House N****r, pure and simple.

Remember New Orleans.
