Wear your Mardi Gras beads! |
|
Mardi Gras is celebrated all along the coast from Baton Rouge to Mobile and all the areas slammed by Katrina.
While it does nothing really it would be an easily recognized symbol to show your support and concern.

I'm down to three doubloons: 1989 Rex, 1990 Endymion and 1990 Hermes. I carry one with me at all (well, most) times these days.

|
I know you can here in Branson and we're far from Mardi Gras land.

People could shout "show us your boobs!", then hold up pictures of Bush, Cheney, Chertoff (Homeland Security), and Brown (FEMA).

10. Absolutely! At every local public event! |
|
Get the Scouts, schools, etc. involved. Sell them at school football games. Think of the possibilities!

17. I'm going to put together a "sale" at the local Farmer's Market, for the |
|
Red Cross relief fund. We have a small but vocal Mardi Gras event here, so Beads for Relief, or whatever, might resonate with our locals....

14. Anyone know how long we will have to march on the 24th? |
|
Since I broke my leg, I've had a difficult time standing or walking for a long period of time. The length of time would determine on if I can go to the march.

15. I don't know how long the march is, but there is a lot of standing around |
|
done at protests. If you have difficulty or pain, this may not be for you.
If you stay home, write letters to politicians. :)

Tje beads could also become bracelets, the colors are so New Orleans in flavor that everyone would know what they stood for.
