but it strikes me that there are so few of them in comparison to the vast majority of people.

There are now stories that some of the debit card holders bought $800 Louis Vuitton bags. Three so far. Again, they don't need LV bags and there will be people who have never had $2000 at once who will do that. But there so FEW of them in comparison to the majority.
