Said something about conditions changing but not sure what was meant.

3. Floodwaters are gone from many areas, the electricity is coming
back on in areas, and they are expecting to have running water soon and potable water soon also (in some areas). That's what I think I hear a couple of days ago. So the areas with utilities back should be allowing people IN!

5. I guess the visuals of people being dragged out of homes
that haven't sustained too much obvious damage would have been too much for the tottering house of cards to stand.

Imagine that your were convinced to abandon your pet and belongings and left your house relatively intact and found out this little tid-bit. Now that you're out they're not going to let you back.

7. This was all CYA stuff
They had to put on a show for the cameras that they were getting people out because if they hadn't and someone died on their watch, then the Schiavo freaks would be out in force.

They a couple of 'forced' evacuations for the cameras. Usually, really sick people who needed to get medical attention anyway.

However now that the water is going down, the water pipes are getting flushed out, and even the electric is coming back people are starting to go back to whatever is left of the their homes.

They even opened up the first parrish for people to return without restriction.

This all sounds like good news to me, opposed to the doom and gloom BushCo was trying to convince us all of last week.

8. Gee, wouldn't it be great for once to have
been WRONG about what their plans were. (Better: to have seen their plans FOILED by the holdouts.)

I was sure they were trying to get every registered living person out of the city so they could safely stage some sort of "gas leak" malfunction or spontaneous combustion of toxic cesspool: like just blow the place (along with the body count) off the face of the planet so that the rebuilding of the shining white city at the oil spout could begin--at taxpayers' expense of course.

Please, holdouts, stand your ground and help prove me WRONG.

The holdouts were something they didn't factor in.

9. I think the truth is that they got all the people that they wanted to be
permanently out of New Orleans, out of New Orleans, and relocated far enough away that they cannot get back in easily.
NOW, they can allow the rest of the people back in.
