Did the WH Put Up This Display for the Bush/Firemen Photo-Op? --pix->>>
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 02:11 AM by Stephanie

I somehow doubt the NYC firemen, or the LA hurricane survivors, took the time out from disaster relief to create this memorial display. Did George Bush bring it with him? It wouldn't be the first time the WH pulled this trick. Scott Sforza is the WH staffer who designs all those back-drops for Bush's photo-ops. Did he do this one?

6. If he carted in his own backdrop for this meeting with the firemen -
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 02:01 AM by Stephanie

it is absolutely disgusting. And if the Bush WH PR team deliberately displayed that kind of imagery in New Orleans in the midst of this racial crisis it is horrifying.

8. What's with the shadows?
The shadows on the sign appear as if 2 people are standing very close in front of the sign, yet somehow are not in the picture.

15. Is this just insane,
or am I?

Go to the site of a current disaster to commemorate another? a trip down memory lane of his failures? something to be proud of?

Why didn't he go to the 'freedom march'? Rummy didn't invite him?

--

by the way, can anyone decipher what the plaque at the bottom of the display (down by the gift wrapping or whatever that is) says?

16. The cross on it should tell you hon
There were many people of different faiths that died that day I'm sure. And people who had no faith. I find that disgusting. Does that mean that they're only going to remember those who were Christians who died that day? I get so tired of this and I'm a Christian myself!

18. CNN had them fighting fires too
I wrote on this a couple days ago, I think it's immoral to put these guys through another hell for a Bush photo-op and propaganda...

“...the FDNY dispatched to the Gulf Coast is shown on CNN putting out fires in New Orleans while 1,400 other firefighters from around the country are handing out fliers?

They've got people here who are search-and-rescue certified, paramedics, haz-mat certified," said a Texas firefighter. "We're sitting in here having a sexual-harassment class while there are still in Louisiana who haven't been contacted yet…

Roy Fire Chief Jon Ritchie said his crews would be a "little frustrated" if they were assigned to hand out phone numbers at an evacuee center in Texas rather than find and treat victims of the disaster.

Also of concern to some of the firefighters is the cost borne by their municipalities in the wake of their absence. Cities are picking up the tab to fill the firefighters' vacancies while they work 30 days for the federal government. "

What is the reason the initial FDNY request of 3 Chiefs and one SAR Team sent to Biloxi was suddenly transformed to several hundred sent to New Orleans on Monday? Emotionally, don’t you think the FDNY has been through enough and really shouldn’t be dumped into another disaster unnecessarily? What of the hundreds of firefighters who have been” lounging at an Atlanta airport hotel for days while they await orders..."

21. If the Bush WH took the time and effort to create a phony memorial display
and lug it down to NOLA as a backdrop for the photo-op then I WANT THE WHOLE WORLD TO KNOW IT. What a despicable waste of time and resources and exploitation of the NYFD.
