Here's a quote that shows what's wrong with this country.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/10/bush.poll.ap/index.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush's job approval has dipped below 40 percent for the first time in the AP-Ipsos poll, reflecting widespread doubts about his handling of gasoline prices and the response to Hurricane Katrina.

----snip----

And just over half in the poll, 52 percent, said they disapprove of the president's handling of the hurricane.

For Bill Kane of Kingsland, Georgia, the government's slow response to the hurricane "was terrifying to see in our own country. It made you mad, because it made you think where's our money going?"

-------snip----------------

So let me get this straight - tens of thousands dying, hundreds of thousands suffering, and you're thinking about MONEY?!?!

No wonder Bush still has 39% approval rating....

1. i see nothing wrong with the quote--i read it as him saying that lots of
money spent on fema/homeland security and what do we have after 4 years.

anyway, that is my take.

2. I think you're right...he wants to know why his taxes are misappropriated
so that thousands of Americans have to die and become diplaced on American soil.

12. That's how I read it too
How much money has our country spent on homeland security? And how secure are we? Obviously, not very. If something happens, look how long it'll take the feds to help us.

13. I suppose, but still, why is money the biggest problem here?
Call me crazy, but I think human suffering should be just slightly higher up the priority list.

4. Yes, I too hate it that..
.. my tax money is being used on Iraq and not to help Americans who need it.

I'd like to see my tax money used for life not death, building and not destruction.... protecting the environment and endangered species and natural places... etc.

7. people are saying "where's our money going"?
because Home Land in-Security & FEMA have been given tons of money -- and this money should have made it possible to aid New Orleans and the Gulf region IMMEDIATELY.

Why are we giving all that tax payer money to these agencies and they are doing a piss poor job for the people of the region.

Where indeed has the billions of $$$ been spent?

10. "Fascism is better described as Corporatism..." Benito Mussolini,
"...for it is the relationship of Government with business that is the basis of Fascism"

that describes what is wrong with this country even better...!!
