A problem with this weeks Top 10 Conservative Idiots
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 10:44 AM by LiberalVoice
In like 8 or 9 of the Top Ten there was mention of "Thousands of dead". Isn't it a little too soon to be saying stuff like that?

1. Don't know the answer to your question
but another problem is that it's only a Top Ten list. So many idiots, so little time...Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Beck, all the right wing extremist "broadcasters" who are beating the drum for the bush "administration".

9. If you think the death toll will top out at 500
then you've got your head in the sand.

12. your post just makes it sound like you misread some news items
there are already 400-plus CONFIRMED dead in louisiana alone with many thousands left to collect & identify

there are additionally many hundreds CONFIRMED dead in mississippi with probably another thousand left to collect & identify

yr post makes it sound like you heard the latest count of confirmed, identified dead from louisiana, which is 400-plus, and just assumed that this was the total

not even close

please don't forget the heart-breaking death and devastation on the coast

there is no doubt whatsoever that thousands have died

ppl are touchy about this esp. if you do have a friend or family member who died

it's hard you know?

13. One number is the confirmed dead and the others are estimates
There is a number for the confirmed dead, where they have identified the bodies. That is slowly creeping up, but it still way below where it will eventually be as they find more bodies in the floodwaters.

I don't know if it will end up in the tens of thousands -- those were the original guesses from computer models and what the local authorities feared. Hopefully, it will turn out to be much less. But I think "thousands" is a safe assumption at this point.

However, I can't begrudge someone who would prefer to wait for the confirmations. I don't think anyone thought 9/11 would "only" be 2,900.

14. Didnt misread.
My only question was, with the death toll having been around 400 when I posted this, isn't it a bit too soon to be saying thousands dead?Initially estimates had it around 10,000. all im saying is that people shouldn't be saying there are thousands dead until we know there are actually thousands dead.

5. Has CNN done anything with it's great "win" in that
lawsuit yet? No? Has ANY outlet even mentioned St. Gabriel or projected figures, or how the accounting is to be done? No?

Some legitimate, unanswered questions here.

11. no it isn't too soon
thousands of dead is thousands of dead

1,500 known dead if not collected yet & their names taken in st. bernard parish alone

1,000 dead in biloxi alone

thats "thousands" right there without even counting nawlins or any of the other many hard-hit towns & cities like gulfport
