5. I think he's great on breaking down issues. He annoys me when
he drags down the show with a lame radio skit and he tries to act out 2-3 roles himself.

19. I really like him. Do not listen often, only when I happen to drive
at those hours. And he really had excellent comments today about Brown. He talked about Brown altered resume and all of a sudden it hit me: of course Bush wouldn't mind. Didn't he alter his resume, too?

11. a really lame skit about a teacher at the Astrodome (?)
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 12:11 PM by DrDan
who is teaching 23,000 students and married her teacher-aid over the week-end

very pointless and not funny - at least it was while I was listening - had to give up on it

12. I wonder if he got the inspiration on the teacher theme cuz his daughter
teaches - he does not ever seem defeated by disapproval, though. The man keeps on ticking.

4. He's the only thing I can "see" on AAR.
No AAR stations up here this far north, so the only time I can get AAR is the 11:30pm show on the Sundance channel.

7. Difference between young lefties and old liberals
Young lefties take themselves way too seriously over small stuff.

----An old liberal

18. Youthful Exuberance...
At least there's some passion...been a long time since I have seen it. I thought I'd never see it again.

9. I think Katherine keeps the sketches to a
minimum. They are kind of torture sometimes.

when he gets too far out there. :7

13. I can't listen to Al Franken any more
I'm happy that he gave AAR a name in the early days, but really, he's horrendous on radio and he must be losing listeners by the thousands.
Please AAR, give him a golden parachute and a big push.

14. his droning voice and dull topics are a turn off...AAR would really
help themselves out if they replaced al with tom hartman permanently and not just on satellite radio. al is a bore...:boring:

15. I like him overall, and mostly for his guests...
like David Brock, Jonathan Alter, Joe Conason, Tom Oliphant, etc. I do wish he'd get rid of his segments with Mark the Ditto-head, though. Those are painfully tedious and Mark doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would genuinely change his mind about some things, regardless of the facts.

The one person on AAR whose appeal I don't get is Randi Rhodes (sorry, Randi fans). She can't keep from interrupting her callers even when she agrees with them, and woe betide the person who says, "I agree with 90% of what you said, but...." Sometimes I wish she'd just shut up for a minute and let her callers get a word in--when she's taking calls I can't listen for more than a couple of minutes at a time before I get irritated and have to switch to something else.

16. I agree with you about Randi, but I still like listening to her. She tends
to get a little far out into the conspiracy zone from time to time.
