22. Of course they told him to leave
But, we must all look beyond this little ploy. By "resigning" he has allowed Bush to keep his "loyalty to those who work for him" myth intact.

So once again, like in the case of Colin Powell, Richard Clarke, and
Paul O'Neill, Bush didn't fire Brown, Brown quit of his "own accord". But BushCo can still say that Nero is "loyal" to those who work for him.

Frankly I have no problem with Dick really being in charge (we all already knew that didn't we?) he may be pure evil but he is capable of handling the job responsibilities.

19. i guess NOW its time for the "blame game"...
... and I guess BushCo has his scape-goat in Brown. Does anyone else feel like this will take pressure off shrub from the general public? Could this all be an attempt to crucify Brown in the name of chimpy's ratings?

27. I agree. This makes * look even worse.
If he were a real leader, he wouldn't have appointed him in the first place. But we know that.

Now maybe this will help it stick: The guy who was doing such a "heck of a job" obviously wasn't, but instead of firing him, Brown resigns. Without * ever accepting any responsibility and refusing to play "the blame game."

This is bad for *.

24. After that tear jerking email yesterday
Blaming the 24-hour media for allowing people to think for themselves, oh, wait, he said it kept people from thinking for themselves.

I knew this was coming.

It's not enough, but it's a start. I'd rather they just admit bush chose an incompetent boob for the job, but this is a move in the right direction.

I mean, glad to see that guy go, but this may be the fever theory of scandal response - get everything as hot as possible as quickly as possible so it burns itself out.

35. I don't think so,
I think it will bring it even clearer to the American people how out of touch Bush was. "Brownie, you're doing a heck of job", congratulating him and patting him on the back. If Bush had publically fired him, he would have gotten much more out of it.
