Another GOP meme drown with Katrina: "incompetent civil servants" |
|
When FEMA was an apolitical organization, it functioned so relatively smoothly that most of us just assumed that those who lived through the natural disaster itself would be okay.
With cronies running the show who are only looking for angles to throw contracts to friends, that grinds to a halt. Worse, once the friend is given the contract, the crony pretending to be a public servant has no incentive to oversee the friend's performance--he'll be asking that friend for a job when he's tired of government service.
Not a bad scam unless you're a customer of the government instead of in on the joke.

1. Ben Stein tried to link incompetence with FEMA, bureaucracy & Hillary |
|
Clinton's health care plan.
Nice try. The only health care system in the Western World continuously in crisis is the American one because it doesn't share risk across generations & wealth.

4. Well that is the message he was sent to spread: "see how bad |
|
bureaucracy is?". As if our long term memories have just plumb disappeared.
