Bush immediately needs to go back to washington for therapy.

They're just CALLING it a resignation because firing Brown means that BUSH MADE A MISTAKE in hiring him.

Bush* placed the idiot and then refused to fire him and thus admit he'd screwed up is my bet. They went behind bush's back and had him resign when bush wasn't paying attention (not hard to do).

Remember that first Secy of Treasury O'Neill? He talks about being pretty much told to resign. This time it will save W's face. But he's a goner. Everybody already knows the score.
