CBS Evening News covered story of firemen used as Bush props...
Two firemen from Texas, who volunteered to offer relief to beleaguered New Orleans, told the story of how the only plan FEMA had to implement their use was to act as background props for Bush photo-ops.

FEMA refused to talk to CBS about the story.

7. Firefighters are among the most devoted professionals we have.

It takes a lot of courage to be a firefighter. I'm sure they don't appreciate their image being exploited by having to serve as props for a monkey who lost his organ grinder.

edit to change a word ;)

12. FDNY Firefighters too
They have had them all over CNN, fighting fires. Initially, the FDNY request was for 3 Chiefs and one SAR Team for Biloxi. That request was changed to several hundred for New Orleans last Monday, just in time for a week of photo-ops. I think these guys have been through enough and that it's immoral to put them through another hell, especially when we have hundreds of firefighters just waiting around to be dispatched.
