How disconnected from reality is Bush...I mean , wow.....
Edited on Mon Sep-12-05 06:19 PM by Postman
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9287434/

Thomm Hartmann covered a part of this on his radio program today. He mentioned J.H. Hatfield's expose of Bush's shady past, the drinking, the drug use, the re-issued brand new drivers license before he ran for Governor of Texas....and his hair-trigger fly off the handle temper.

No wonder his aides are intimidated when it comes to telling him any bad news...(why am I getting visions of a crazed Hitler screaming at his subordinates?)

With a President who takes pride in exclaiming he doesn't read newspapers or watch news, it took WH aide Dan Bartlett to make up a DVD of the newscasts so Bush could see them in their entirety as he flew down to the Gulf Coast the next morning on Air Force One.

We are truly living in scary times.

1. What the hell are you talking about?!?!?
Why the hell should Bush waste his time with the predominantely slanted main stream media when he gets the gleened data several links up the chain from those who disseminate it to news organizations? Why go to Wal-mart when he's got direct access from the source? I suppose he could take a peek just to guage the level of loathing out there for him but I think he realizes that already.

3. Unfortunately, Bush doesn't seem to "realize" anything.
He appears to be completely detached from humanity.

He IS the Manchurian Candidate.

8. I hope you're kidding
Not only does he not read a paper or watch the news, but he doesn't get info from anywhere until after the fact. Think about the last time they evacuated the WH and the Capitol Building. He was biking in Maryland, IIRC, and they didn't bother to interrupt his ride to tell him that bit of news.

They found out in September of 2001 that it did them no good to tell him anything. He didn't know what to do or who to ask then either.

5. America knew Brown resigned from FEMA before Little Boots knew.
That's on another thread on DU which discusses the issue.

How out of touch can you be that you don't realize your numero uno incompetent flunky has resigned from the post to which you appointed him? It's mind-boggling. The man is incapable of keeping up with current events and responding to them in a reasonable and prudent manner.
