What's the Dept of Homeland Security's annual budget? |
|
I heard 41 billion... but is that annual, or since the life of the Department? Anybody?
I ask because... well, isn't the Dept. charged with preventing both terrorist and natural disasters? And hadn't a flood in the wake of a hurricane already been identified as among America's top 3 disaster risks? So why was next to nothing of that $41 billion devoted to shoring up New Orleans's levees?
WTF have they been spending all that money on?

1. Thats's the question I keep asking? Where did those tax |
|
dollars go? Homeland Security tells us they can't disclose details of their budget because of "security" concerns. B.S. We have to know where OUR money is being spent.
I've been writing to my Senators plus those on Homeland Security Committee and demanding to know:
DHS was supposed to set up a communications system so that what happened in NYC would never happen again.
DHS was supposed to set up a central data base so missing/found could be identified quickly. We now have 45 different missing persons databases.
DHS was support etc., etc., etc., so where did that money go?
Several have now taken this question up including Lieberman in a letter I got from him, Collins, Levin, etc.
Write and demand to know where our money was spent? What exactly did they do other than reward cronies.
