Yes, and I know, I know, curse me for visiting and posting; I expect it, but I personally believe Know Thine Enemy is not a bad idea. Besides, this has become the mainstream of this Administration's defenders. And, it's Whack Job City on this one. I won an award once for Constitutional law, and I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this complete idiocy. Tragedy tomorrow; comedy tonight. So, check this madness out.

1. I believe I have a brilliant solution for this problem.
If you don't have ID than as you leave the booth, a very large Man will burn your hand. (kinda' like a branding Iron)
That way you couldn't vote twice! The poll people could just check all the poor people hands.

Thank you..Thank You..

2. Oddly, when you read the responses...
A LOT of them oppose this backdoor poll tax or are in favor of reducing the fee. Of course, many simply blabber on about liberal bias.

3. The really sad thing about the Ga. voter ID law
This law is meant to address a problem that (as the NY Times editorial notes) does not exist in Georgia, or any of the other 49 states. Georgia Secretary of State Cathy Cox notes that to her knowledge there has not been a single case of someone casting a ballot by impersonating a legally registered voter.

Just think of the money Georgia wouldn't have to spend if it simply stopped this mandatory voter ID proposal. Oh, and besides, as the NY Times points out, the fee for a voter ID amounts to a poll tax, and poll taxes are unconstitutional.

Ms. Cox says a far bigger voter fraud problem involves absentee ballots. Under this law, you'll still be able to vote via absentee ballot in Georgia without ID. So much for voter fraud protection.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist Jim Wooten has been adamant in his support of voter ID. He insists that opponents simply want to continue stuffing ballot boxes, which would be a neat trick, since claims of ballot box stuffing are a myth. His arguments are shriller by the week. They are that painful to read. The guy is a racist.

faygokid, I read some of the f* posts, and they are hilariously scary. I "like" the ones that recommend Constitution quizzes for voters, in addition to poll taxes. I was especially thrilled with the idiots calling for votes calibrated by non-government income. The more you make, the more your vote counts. If you're on public assistance, Social Security disability, etc., you vote counts for squat. How enlightened.

I like your posts, too. I think I know which ones they were. They were just subtle enough not to be labelled "troll".

5. Fight voter fraud when there is evidence of it.
There is none here. Zip. A non-problem in need of this solution? C'mon. There is an agenda here.

6. OK..
So, you are telling me that a state does not have the right to ask for a photo ID, even if they are willing to provide one for free?
You said that Ballot Box Stuffing is a myth...
So shrub didnt do it? I mean he did the same thing, electronically, possibly with physically in other places?

I think that it is a good idea. You want to vote, prove who you are.

7. If this is a big issue for you, go for it.
I believe this effort is all about winnowing the voting rolls. You are free to make your case. Please provide evidence of the "big problem" this has been in Georgia, and I will respectfully review it. It doesn't exist. But, maybe you can find it. Otherwise, it's an "urban legend" convenient for the GOP.

8. Georgia voter ID's would cost most people
I would not object to free voter ID cards either, but that's not the way the Ga. law is set up. They'll cost $$$$ and in addition, as proposed, they will be hard to get. As they NY Times points out, there are only 58 places where you could get the cards (in a state with 159 counties), and none of those places would be in Atlanta. Money's an issue here, but it's not the only issue.

The Chimp (IMO) didn't "win" the White House by crudely stuffing ballot boxes using people with false IDs. The techniques used by his supporters were far more sophisticated, and I bet you know that.
