Chimp says he didn't know Brown had resigned
wtf?

from Wonkette (apology if dupe)

If an Embattled FEMA Director Falls in the Forest. . .
The President is apparently working overtime to make up for that longish holiday in Crawford. He's working so hard that he just can't be bothered with things like the head of FEMA resigning. Doesn't know anything about it. Hell, he barely knows the guy.

Q Can you tell us, have you accepted the resignation of Michael Brown, or have you heard about it?

THE PRESIDENT: I haven't -- no, I have not talked to Michael Brown -- or Mike Chertoff; that's who I'd talk to. As you know, I've been working. And when I get on Air Force One, I will call back to Washington. But I've been on the move.

Q Our understanding is he has resigned, he's made a statement. Would that be appropriate --

THE PRESIDENT: I haven't talked to Mike Chertoff yet, and that's what I intend to do when I get on the plane. You know, I -- you probably -- maybe you know something I don't know, but as you know, we've been working, and I haven't had a chance to get on the phone.

2. What is worse..if he is lying, or if that is the truth, and the govt goes
on without his knowledge.
Either way, it should become more and more obvious to everyone what a total empty vessel he is.

4. "Maybe you know something I don't know"
Uh, Mr. President? You're going to have to sharpen that comment up a bit, because the set of things I know that you don't is just so damn big.

7. So it looks like Brown did something that Bush refused to do...
the right thing.

Bush would never have gotten rid of Brown himself.
