New Frame: Bush unpreparedness for Katrina is an invitation for terrorism |
|
Bush's lack of response to Hurricane Katrina has shown terrorist cells such as Osama bin Laden's Al-Queda how weak and unprepared the US is at home for another 9/11. Due to Bush overextending our military for a useless and fallacious war in Iraq, America is unprepared to deal with disaster at home, whether that be a natural disaster or another terrorist attack similar to that of 9/11. Bush's incompetence merely exposed US vulnerability to the terrorists, and will serve to encourage them to attack.
This hurricane should serve only as a warning to the American people that Bush's policies are leaving the homeland desperately vulnerable, and Bush's lack of leadership shows terrorists around the globe just how crippling another 9/11 would be. There is no doubt that because of Bush's incompetence, terrorists are changing plans to hasten any attacks on the US homeland while it is still vulnerable. If Bush can't manage a disaster that was three days warning, how can he manage an impending disaster such as a terrorist attack with which we may only have three hours warning?

my know it all republican colleagues have no answer for. They have talking point arguments for just about everything else, but this one leaves them strangely quiet.

5. I had a similar thought a few days ago |
|
I think my take was that now that Katrina wreaked so much havoc on the Gulf Coast, why wasn't al-Qaeda taking advantage of our overtaxed security infrastructre and launching more terrorist attacks on us? Didn't happen, did it?
Great post. You did a hell of a job.

I really think this meme has legs. Categorizing this as a homeland security issue automatically puts the blame on Bush, and not the local governments. And it directly attacks Bush's greatest strength head on.

It work great!!!
What I said to right winger... When Bush can't even handle 9/11 (ignored all the warning at least 56 of them) and Katrina Catastrophe mess, how the fuck, you expect him too handle another huge attack to American soil??? Total silence!

8. That's because there is no response! |
|
No one will deny that the government handling of this is an unmitigated disaster. It is a disaster of 9/11 scale or larger, and yet we were still unprepared with days of warning!
Bush is encouraging terrorism with his incompetence!
