SCOTUS position is QUID PRO QUO for Roberts' (s)election role
Most of us know that, but I just want to remind the lurking freepers and the other doubters. Bush appoints his friends and cronies, and Roberts is the ultimate crony. He is being appointed not because of vast experience or judicial temperament. He is being placed in a lifetime appointment to the highest legal position in the land merely because he helped Bush fraudulently claim the 2000 election. He is already damaged goods, because he has demonstrated that he can be bought. Do we want a bought-and-paid-for GOP extremist shill in a lifetime position, deciding our rights for generations to come?

Besides, all you have to do is look to Bush's other crony appointments to see how disastrous the results can be when a quid pro quo trumps experience. Just ask the residents of New Orleans

2. Roberts has recused himself from ruling on cases because he was applying
for a job with a certain firm involved in a case. Therefore, he should withdraw from the nomination because he helped Bu$h steal the election. He has a HUGE conflict on interest and is therefore NOT qualified to be a justice (of any sort.)

3. Could be quid pro quo for a lot of things
He met with Bushco about the Scotus position just before issuing a favorable decision regarding the Gitmo tribunals as well. They (Bushco) swear that they didn't talk about the tribunals during the meeting (yeah, sure), but it sure doesn't look good, and given their past record for lying and death, they were probably desparate to get these tribunals going. I am quite sure he carries the Bushco agenda. He is every bit as phony as Tommy Thompson, Condi Rice, Mike Brown, Tom Ridge, and a host of other cronies.
