Junior must be desperate to invade IRAN if he's "apologizing" for Katrina
Edited on Tue Sep-13-05 11:49 AM by Nikki Stone 1
Basically, he wants to get Katrina off the table and get his poll numbers back up. This way, he gets a war with Iran. I think this obsession with getting control of Middle Eastern Oil and the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and (in the future) Iran and Syria are the reason why Bush didn't respond the hurricane. It was just never on his radar. I think that Rove realized that if Junior didn't get past Katrina (and the public was MAD at him), then the administration couldn't get on with its mission in the ME.

2. He apparently took responsibility--musta choked on it
But all these DUers are giving him the benefit of the doubt. That's foolish in my opinion. There's not a responsible bone in Junior's body.

5. I'll bet. BTW, what does responsiblity mean to him, anyway?
Rush will probably explain in great detail that taking responsibility is not the same as admitting fault.

Bush on Katrina response: 'I take responsibility'

Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON, Sept 13 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush took responsibility on Tuesday for failures in the federal government's response to Hurricane Katrina.

"Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government, and to the extent that the federal government didn't fully do it's job right, I take responsibility," Bush said. "I want to know what went right and what went wrong."

7. Yeah. He seems to have been annoyed by having to attend to it
There were other things that were far more important.

9. "taking responsibility" is just a way of getting Katrina off the table
I'm worried that it will work.

10. I think he had to stand down from Iran
to help with Katrina - may be why response was slow at first. One of my theories, anyway. He's gonna send what we have left here and what we have in Iraq. Katrina got in the way, big time. This is why he sacrificed his buddy Mikey, why HE is going to investigate - he can't tell anyone yet about Iran Maybe this is why he is going to address the nation Thursday?

War is Smirky's raison d'etre.(reason for being)
