Bush: 'I take responsibility'

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
President George W. Bush took responsibility on Tuesday for failures in the federal government's response to Hurricane Katrina.

"Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government, and to the extent that the federal government didn't fully do it's job right, I take responsibility," Bush said. "I want to know what went right and what went wrong."

1. "to the extent that the federal government didn't fully do it's job right,
I take responsibility" . . .

one month from now . . .

"My investigation has shown conclusively that there WAS no extent that the federal government didn't do it's job right" . . .

Bush's "taking responsibility" is as meaningless as every other lie emanating from his pie hole . . .

2. Responsiblity would have meant ..

Being responsible would have meant sticking your nose into the government every once and a while and finding out what was going on.

It's not as if this was the work of some slacker low level bureaucrat. This was a TOP LEVEL decision on whether to deploy resources or not. And believe or not as President, it is your responsibility to make sure people do their jobs.

If Bush was Captain of a ship, he would have been removed from his command and NEVER extended another. He would be forced to resign. A Captain is PRESUMED responsible for the conduct of the crew under his command. He must show due dilligence that he gave proper oversight.

We should ASSUME the same thing with the President. Mr President ... where is your DUE DILLIGENCE regarding Hurrican Katrina? Did you make a public statment on Aug 28 announcing that you've instructed your FEMA director to give 100% support to gulf coast relief efforts? When if ever did you talk to "Brownie". Did Brownie lie to you saying he was mobilizing resources when he did not. And since Chertoff is the cabinet level official responsible for this, what the fuck was HE DOING????

Mr President, show your due diligence or resign!!!!!
