That weasel candy ass Cliff May mocks DU |
|
CAN I BEAT KOS AND DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND TO THE PUNCH? The power is out in Los Angeles – and where the hell is George W. Bush?
Why hasn’t he said anything empathetic yet? It’s been hours!
Does he even care what the people of Los Angeles are going through? Not everyone in Hollywood can just get into a Range Rover and turn on the air conditioning. Some people only have Mercedes and BMWs and red Corvettes.
How long is the rescue effort going to take? Surely, Bush is not waiting on the mayor and the governor again. Big-foot them now! I’ll bet Bush is playing his silly banjo. Posted at 05:17 PM

12. Shows up on MSNBC too |
|
Mostly Tweety's show.
Is known for tendency to over talk and ramble on with GOP talking points, most of which he has tattooed on his eyeballs. Will always be counted upon to bring up Clinton & Monica no matter how irrelevant to the subject at hand.

7. This is more pathetic than anything |

You know it must be bad for them if they're comparing a power failure to a city being destroyed and left abandoned while his beloved Bush enjoys a vacation.

13. who knew that Cliff May had such a hard on for DU? |
|
Sounds like the guy practically lives here;
by the way Cliff, we can laugh at ourselves. That was almost funny, had it come from one of us, the same way "queer" is okay among queers and friends but not from a bigoted racist homophobe.

14. I got a personal reply from Cliff May once re: Plame. |
|
E-mail to Clifford D. May (author@nationalreview.com) about his July 28, 2003 article in The Weekly Standard smearing Joseph Wilson, the former U.S. ambassador whose op-ed piece in the New York Times helped spark the controversy over Bush’s State of the Union speech.
Dear Clifford May,
How exactly can you call Joseph Wilson a "leftist partisan" when he served as ambassador to Iraq during the Gulf War and supported that action? George H.W. Bush certainly held him in high regard when he praised his service during that conflict. Of course, you leave that part of Wilson's background out of your story - demonstrating your skill with selective information gathering, a skill you share with your favorite administration.
July 18, 2003
Clifford D. May replies:
My point was that there is reason to suspect that Wilson had an ax to grind and that at the very least his association with leftist causes (and with the Saudis) should have been disclosed by those interviewing him.
Believe me, if he'd had links with Christian conservatives that would have been mentioned.
As I tried to make clear I have no quarrel with his conclusion: that a sale of uranium from Niger to Iraq was "highly doubtful." But he was not privy to other intelligence (e.g. regarding Iraqi attempts to purchase uranium) so when he says in his op-ed that intelligence was "twisted" by the Bush administration he is saying that based only on his personal opinions.
With that in mind, I think it's relevant to know what his opinions are. Yes, Bush praised him. But he has had no praise for Bush.
****************** I don't Cliffie quite understood that it was Bush1 that praised Wilson. Oh well, history must not be his strong suit.
