Are there any levels past Level 3? :)

This place will be fun that night regardless!

55. Aw sure! And Welcome to DU, btw!
Hey, we all know he won't but it's rawther fun as an imagination exercise.

I saved some sparklers and other little things from the Fourth of July. Might be fun to go out back, in the dirt where there aren't any overhanging trees, and we'd all light some.

I'd celebrate like crazy. Probably eat too much chocolate, and then stay up all night watching cable news for the postmortems and enjoy all the apologist-types crying in their beer.

Might even wake my kids up and make them dance with me. My son was only a few months old when Clinton beat bush-1. I held him in my arms and danced around the room with him, laughing and cheering and singing. My daughter, then just a toddler, was dancing along with me.

I know it won't happen. At least not now. But I'm visualizing IMPEACHMENT and encouraging everyone I know to do likewise. So, hey, it could, soon.

BTW, note this from one of the early bush-pushers and apologists who's since come around:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/14/opinion/14dowd.html?pagewanted=print

If Maureen Dowd is one of those now saying that it doesn't matter what bush does now - he'll never recover with a lot of people who can't ever forget how he sat on his ass and did nothing while New Orleans was virtually washed off the face of the earth. Craid Crawford says the same thing:

http://www.cq.com/public/crawford_current.html

Enjoy. If THAT is the perception that's getting out there in the mainstream media, we should rejoice. Repeat THAT observation often enough and it, too, will stick.

You only get ONE chance at a first impression, *²

Had he gone directly back to DC and gone on TV as soon as Blanco called him, and showed how worried he was about Louisiana, he would have appeared to be a serious president worried about "his people"..

He could have even said "Pray for New Orleans", and people would have lapped it up like kittens....BUT he did NOT..

He mugged for the camera, ate cake, played golf, and strummed a guitar..

We all saw him for what he is... a cavalier, uncaring fool..

There's a large bottle of tequila in the cupboard and two bottles of mixer in the fridge - I'll be celebrating quite heavily.

But don't count on resignation - look for martial law in the US after the announcement to invade Iran and Syria.

28. I'm starting to feel like a NASCAR fan (not the normal ones but the
ones who go for the crashes).

I may actually watch this. I've always suspected that during one address, we'd see him "speak in tongues." It's time. That's all I want...his asshole fan club has to see him melt down up close and personal.

paineinthearse has a thread with this quotation:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=4755571&mesg_id=4755571

"What I was referring to is this: When that storm came by, a lot of people said we dodged a bullet. When that storm came through at first, people said, Whew. There was a sense of relaxation. And that’s what I was referring to.

And I myself thought we had dodged a bullet. You know why? Because I was listening to people probably over the airwaves say, The bullet has been dodged. And that was what I was referring to.

Of course, there were plans in case the levee had been breached. There was a sense of relaxation at a critical moment."

OK, so the guy is listening to people probably over the airwaves. I wonder who else hears those messages "over the airwaves."

This is truly pathetic! Guy must be "resigned" along with Chenery. Damn it, Fitzgerald, indict Cheney so a replacement for Bush can be chosen.

At the risk of being tedious (yes, I know, "that's no risk, it's a simple statement of fact...)
Endgame

29. Drunk. Very, very drunk
The chances are exactly zero. Sociopaths only make tactical admissions of guilt because they feel that they were right all along. Ted Bundy only started admitting that he'd killed anyone because he thought it would run out the clock on his execution. There is no upside to Bush for resigning, unless you think he suddenly developed a conscience.

He's going to try another bullhorn moment to try to salvage what's left of his reputation. It won't work. Then it will be the Night of the Long Knives for everyone his poisoned little mind thinks might have double-crossed him.

Finally, he'll announce that we're now engagin' in the Global Struggle Against Violent Weather.

if he finds monkeys up there instead of enlarged veins, he may scamper out of the room, screaming -- and I may not be able to reschedule with anyone else, because it will be on my record.

Or maybe I should just bring a bunch of bananas to the surgical suite on 09/22/05???
