I have seen the pictures of your children. They are young and vibrant, and they believe, like so many others, that the joys of life are theirs for the taking.

I have never met them, but I know them well. Like all children, young and old, they break your heart one day only to mend it a hundred fold the next. I know that they dream in color, and that no matter how old they at times giggle like children when no one is watching. They know the sweet taste of summer peaches, and the beautiful feel of first loves. They should live to be a thousand.

On the 24th of this month, we will bring our bodies, our voices, and our souls to Washington D.C. We will do it for your children, because their summers should not end at the whim of a madman. We will take what we know to the streets, and we will, with all the energy we have, try and keep summer an ongoing blessing instead of a cursed memory.

I ask you to come with me, and walk with us all as we try and end the carnage. I have a place for you, and I am here to help in whatever way I can. I have been with you in trying times, and I trust you.

Please come to D.C. – for the thousands of mothers whose sons and daughters can no longer live in summer, and for the thousands who pace the floors all evening waiting for word that the hell across the sea has not claimed another victim. I will walk by your side, and when we are done I will thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And I will give you peaches by the bushel.

16. TMC buses free?

WE just joined the Thomas Merton Center. We also showed up for Cindy Sheehan last Sunday. I sure hope there is WAY more press for the March on Washington the 24th from Pittsburgh area.

The Saturday Post Gazette only had a half inch mention of Cindy's candlelight vigil and the walk to Soldiers and Sailors Museum. We were there, but we wish more people in the burgh would have known.

We will go to Washington! Thanks for the buses, TMC!
