Who here would be FIRED from their jobs if they f*cked up as bad as bush**
I am a bookkeeper, and I am allowed a mistake or two in the course of business, my MAIN job is to make sure the books are basically correct and any mistake is maybe between one general ledger number or another...HOWEVER, if the auditor came in and found out that I had completely bungled my MAIN job..and cost the company MONEY, because of it I would be FIRED! (PS...no lives lost in the process-just cash)

Bush's MAIN job is to keep Americans safe as BEST he can, by doing his JOB...appointing the right people to the right jobs is one of his JOBS!

If you are an architect I am sure 'pretty' is part of your job..but your MAIN job would to be sure the 'pretty' building did not crash down upon the inhabitants...

What is your MAIN job..and would you be fired if you failed miserably at doing it?

2. Most anyone who failed to show up the way that Bush did would
be gone in a matter of minutes I'm sure. For me, I would have to first be able to find a job in this horrible economy to worry about being fired from it.

3. I used to be an IT guy
And if I was reading My Pet Goat for 8+ minutes after the main servers crashed, I'd be fired.

Period.

4. Everyone. In my jobs the only people who were allowed to screw up
were the bosses relatives. This amounts to practically the same thing. We are being governed by a bunch of screwups who could be the bosses son, sister or neer do well uncle.

7. If any of us screwed up like *, we'd have been imprisoned for life
or worse.

That possibility of similar legal accountability still exists, of course, but not while the Chimp King still reigns over Banana Republican America.

11. I would expect
that if my incompetence led to the deaths of hundreds of people and the suffering of thousands, someone's relatives would drag me out of my office and either burn or stone me. Accountability and Responsibility? This country seems incapable of applying those principles to the relatives and political cronies of those who are elected.

12. I'd never be allowed to work there again
And people would also make sure that other potential employers in different cities knew about it.

If I took off for a month and "phoned in" work (e.g. left a bunch of pre-taped lectures for the TA to show, and asked the students to e-mail or phone me at specific times of day if they had any questions) -- I'd be fired.

If I forgot to prepare course outlines, lecture notes, and handouts before the day of class -- I'd be in violation of my contract. (And if I rushed up at the last minute and ordered a new textbook or some photocopying, the office staff would laugh in my face.)

If I messed up and tried to blame my TAs or the other instructors, I'd be facing a disciplinary hearing.

If I tried to appoint one of my friends as a marking assistant or TA (even if s/he were qualified) -- that would be disallowed.

If I "borrowed" someone else's work for a publication (like the Bush Administration plagiarized that grad student's paper) -- I would not be allowed to hold another teaching position at that school, or probably any other. And if it were my thesis ... they'd take away my degree.

19. other proclivities, too? I gots plenty to choose from.
But honestly, I don't think anyone else will be fired or resign. Certainly not Chertoff, not bush and clearly not Cheney.

The only responsibility and accountability we will see is what we just saw from the shrub.

To the extent that the federal government did anything wrong, he accepts responsibility. Geez Louise, do you think he could obfuscate a little more??

16. Got fired for being a bad waitress..
Okay, so I messed up a few orders and dropped the plates of a few customers. I shouldn't have been fired. Why couldn't they have seen how great a job I did at filling the ketchup bottles? I did a fine job of wrapping silverware, too.

The good things I did outweigh my screwups with the customers.

I would courageously take complete responsibility, after trying
desperately to blame it on my co-workers.

My boss is a Bushie...he would respect that.
