Remember our chat about a children's book "Liberals under the bed"?
Edited on Tue Sep-13-05 07:07 PM by Rude Horner
edited to include: The book in question is "Help, there are Liberals under my bed". It's a children's book. Sorry I didn't include this detail when I originally posted.

Well, even though there were a couple threads about this a few weeks back here on DU, the freeps are just hearing about this. And of course, they think this is just the greatest thing since sliced bread. To quote one: "A great stocking stuffer".

But I loved these comments:

<snip>
My 8 year old wants to know why homeless people don't just get a job?
*******
When my 14 year old first visited Toronto with me, he asked me the same thing. I told him everybody got to choose for himself if he'd work or not, and they had decided they didn't want to. So there they were on the street. He just shook his head.
******
<snip>

Life in freeperland is so simple. Imagine being able to sum up a problem like homelessness in two short sentences. "Ya see, Jimmy, all homeless people don't want to work and it's best if we just pretend they're not there. Now get back in the Escalade so we can go home to our gated community."

There should be a law against moronic parents like these.

:banghead:

1. I can't stand it
Edited on Tue Sep-13-05 07:10 PM by FreedomAngel82
Sure, go ahead asshole. Blame the poor. Maybe your son will grow up like them. How will that make you feel? You never know. Maybe when your son grows up and he loses his job then you can still say "Jimmy just didn't want to work." Yeah that's freakin it. Ignorance! I can't stand it!

Edit: corrected myself!

I was a bit confused by the FreedomAngel82 post too. Actually, I wasn't sure if he was yelling at me or not.

15. I apologize.
Shouldn't have assumed you were a "he". And that's ok for being pissed off. When I read those freeper comments, I was pissed too.

7. Freedom Angel is cool. I'm sure it was just a typo.
I've made some blunders myself in the past! And, unlike our "leader" I own up to my boo-boos!

10. Sorry!
Sorry. I meant to say blame the poor. *sigh* I've just been really ticked off lately and I'm in a never ending argument with three people that this country is a Christian nation and was founded as one when I've given proof we're not. *sigh*

2. What was it that Bush said to his Harvard professor?
Poor people are just lazy? Something like that. Anyway, in Bushworld™, the destitute and the homeless clearly have character deficits. However, when a freeper falls on hard times, it's a reversal of fortune--just a bad situation happening to a good person.

9. I bet they blame their misfortune on liberals
"If those damn liberals weren't raising taxes/regulating industry/causing immorality, I wouldn't be poor."

They probably believe they do everything necessary to be rich, but that it is only the evil confiscatory socialist welfare state that keeps them down.

4. I hope repukes start talking like that publicly and OFTEN...
Poverty is a Democrat issue and people will be awake to it in the next election cycles. We've been talking about poverty FOREVER and the Republicans have always been against us.

Now maybe people will start listening. To both sides.

6. I believe that the number of people
living under the poverty line or unemployed in this country is over 12%. A number of those being the working poor (a concept that Cheney just couldn't grasp during the VP debate). Are these freepers really THAT ignorant as to believe this is a CHOICE ?

8. Yes, they really are THAT ignorant.
It's just sad that these "people" are breeding. What a hateful way to raise a child.
