This is probably a pipe dream, but...
Imagine if this administration went down in flames, and suddenly everyone that has been keeping quiet for fear of retribution was suddenly free to talk -- former Halliburton employees, anyone ever screwed by Halliburton, former intelligence agents, former FEMA executives, former EPA executives, anyo former frat buddies or former business partners Bush/Cheney screwed over, etc. All the people who know the secrets and the skeletons suddenly in front of the cameras and talking to the press.

It would be a helluva bonfire.

6. We're getting close now...
If the fall of this administration looks inevitable it'll be better to appear to be AGAINST them than WITH them before it happens. That COULD begin right before the 2006 elections, but it could be 2008.

The rest will go down with the ship.

7. Not exactly a pipe dream.
It's been reported that the neocons ride herd on their people to keep secrecy. If they were drummed out of power what you describe could happen. There would have to be promises that they would keep their jobs, or something. But that could be arranged in reward for acting like a patriot.

8. All it took was one disgruntled employee and two good reporters to
expose the Nixon Administration.
I have been hoping for that same mix to happen for the last 4 years. Maybe, just maybe there will be enough spine for someone in the media and someone from the regime to do the same now.

I realize the Nixon didn't have KKKarl but, if he is busy enough dealing with other spin, maybe someone will get the nerve to expose the criminals.

9. On the bright side, Nixon once looked invincible.
I hated Nixon, and I thought he was a criminal, but hell, next to Bush he looks like George Washington.

11. There's suppose to be a town in one of the Scandinavian countries
where ex-government employees who know too much move to and stay safe until the time is ripe to tell the world what they know. I had read that years ago.
