Ominous trending in Louisiana "official" death toll |
|
Louisiana's official toll. Saturday's official death toll..154 Sunday's official death toll... 192 (+38) Monday's official death toll... 273 (+79) Tuesday's official deaht toll.. 423 (+150)
There are at least 218 deaths in Mississippi and another 30+ in other states, which leads us to 670+ total so far.
And with the Louisiana's trending, the death toll, while not being the 10,000 number everyone feared, will be way too high to say the least.
Bush needs to be strung up for this... in effigy (my S.S. disclaimer).

5. Sounds to me as if the "official" toll |
|
is only after processing by the coroners they sent in. I read somewhere that they are able to process about 140 per day (IIRC). The numbers seem to be in line with that.
It's going to be big. IMO, it won't hit 10,000. I'm thinking 700 or 800. That's still an enormous tragedy by any count.

|

10. The people who would be needed ..to tell who's missing |
|
are scattered all over the country..We will never have a full accounting..
Somewhere out in Missouri(and any number of other states), there is a family who has "lost track" of some of their members.. It will takes MONTHS to reunite families, and by then the "official" numbers will have been low-balled and reported.. People who raise questions later about missing family members will be labeled as FRAUD-seekers..welfare cheats..

6. Americans have been slaughtered on Bush's watch... |
|
9/11... Iraq... Katrina... Victims of the trashing of EPA rules... A space shuttle crew, too!
You should "Live Like You Were Dying" because if you are an American in Shrub's USA, you probably are.

7. even to get an accurate account of the missing |
|
so they cannot reduce the death rate might be tricky... but they need to tally up the missing.

9. Harrison County, Missippi has missing for their county @ 583 |
|
http://www.clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050912/NEWS0110/509120366/1260of the official Mississippi toll of 218, 85 of those are in Harrison County. That county's emergency management department has a list of 583 missing. Now most of those 85 have bot been identified so a significant portion of those 85 need to be subtracted from the 583 if you want an estimate of those are dead. Obviously some of those names on the missing list aren't dead but in some shelter somewhere but there are perhaps people in the county that were shut ins, homeless, entire families, etc. that have not been reported missing.

11. I can understand why the administration would want to suppress the numbers |
|
and I don't doubt for a second that they're trying to do just that. However, regardless of what the final number is, assuming we actually get the truth, they still need to be held accountable.
What is their justification going to be? Yes, we deserted an entire city when they were completely helpless. Yes, the rest of the country watched them die one by one on CNN. Yes, it's true that we stayed on vacation, attended fund raisers, went to birthday parties, and played the guitar while they waited for our help. But only a few hundred died, not the 10,000 that some initially thought.
Do they honestly think that makes it OK? How many people does this Administration have to kill before it's considered a crime?
I'm not directing these questions at you, just ranting.
