What has bush done to protect us from balsa wood model planes?
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 09:07 AM by benburch
You remember the story; When all the world pointed out that it would hardly matter if Sadam had WMDs as he had no means whatsoever of delivering them to a target in the USA, we suddenly became aware of a secret Iraqi program to develop hideous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles which could fly half-way around the world and unleash destruction upon us by remote control.

Here is that fearsome weapon;

http://members.aol.com.nyud.net:8090/jocoop/drone.jpg

It was made of balsa wood, and put together with screws and duct tape. It was radio-controlled and the radio had a range of - FIVE MILES. Word is that it was one of Uday Hussain's toys.

Now... We do know that much more sophistocated UAVs have the capability of crossing oceans. One designed for scientific uses made the trip from Labrador to Ireland a couple of years ago, and certainly it is just barely possible that somebody could build one, put a few pounds of anthrax spores on it, and send it to Washington DC.

If this threat is so great, what has bush** done to defend us against this deadly peril in the last several years. Nothing.

In searching homeland defense web sites and the internet in general, I can find nothing to suggest that defense against balsa wood UAVs has even been considered.

Mr. bush**! We must close the model airplane gap!

2. They already spent the money on something else, or you can
rest assured Halliburton (or some other lover) would have gotten the contract to close the balsa wood plane gap!

3. In the Same Vein . . .
"Could he make it? Why, Mr. President, if he was really good and he took that baby and flew it nice and low, under the radar, could he make it? Hell, YES, he could make it! Um . . . "

It's the "Um" part that always causes trouble.

Meanwhile, anybody hear Chimpy McSmirk's UN speech a little while ago? No less than twice the horse's ass called the U.S. "my country," like some sort of annointed $#@& sovereign. Not "the United States," not "our country." Oh, no. "MY country."

I guess that whole "WE the People" thing's just lost on him.

9. You have to have 3 forms of ID to purchase model airplane cement.
And take your shoes off when entering the hobby shop.
