I might have missed part of it, but was he referring to international law, or just throwing a bone to xenophobic, ignorant freepers?

... the ruling overturning sodomy laws in which the majority cited the elimination of laws to 'decriminalize' gays and lesbians in countries like the Netherlands, Sweden, etc.
At the time of the ruling the wingnuts and Bible-thumpers went crazy claiming the Supremes were letting other nations re-write our laws (and Sam Brownshirt certainly fits in both those categories).
