The Storm That Ate The GOP
Who will pity the soulless Republican Party now that Katrina is mauling their regime?

Can you hear that? That low scraping moan, that painful scream, that compressed hissing wail like the sound of an angry alligator caught in a vise?

Why, it's the GOP, and they're screaming, "No, no it can't be, oh my God, please no, this damnable Katrina thing is just an unstoppable PR disaster for us!"

After all (they wail), who woulda thought dissing all those poor black people and letting so many of them die in filth and misery in the Superdome while our pampered CEO president enjoyed yet another vacation would cause such an ugly backlash, such harsh criticism of the glorious, rich-über-alles GOP creed?

Who knew it would lay bare our deeply inbred agenda of social injustice and civil neglect, and our systematic abuse of the country? This storm thing is so not the thing we need right now because, oh my God look, just look! We've been so golden! We've had the run of the candy store! We have been gods among swine!

Can you hear them? Hastert to DeLay to Frist to Santorum to Rove to Cheney to Bush himself, across the board and all down the snickering party line they keen, "It's not fair! We've been planning this regime, this overthrow for 40 years! We've worked so damn hard to drive a wedge into the culture and an ice pick into the heart of the nation, working like demons on meth to mangle this country's economy and sense of pride so as to boost corporate profits and lock down our wealth and empire!"

And now Katrina. And now a furious backlash we never predicted that could very well spell the death of our wanton free-for-all gluttony. Damn you, Mother Nature! Damn you, uppity female!

Just listen. Isn't that Dick Cheney, lying awake at night as the leeches drain his soul, muttering his woes to a well-narcotized Lynne? "Dammit, Lynney, what went wrong? We've got the House locked up and the Senate locked up and we can cram through any law or any referendum or toxic Patriot Act we like with next-to-zero outcry and no discussion on the floor ..."

We're successfully stuffing the lower courts with hundreds of homophobic neoconservative misogynist appointees and now we even own the Supreme Court -- the Supreme Court, pudding-thighs! -- and even the increasingly impotent California governor is more in our back pocket than we imagined. We've had the whole goddamn country under our thumb for five years, squirming like a stuck rat as we make out like robber barons.

1. All it took
was one woman to bring down these arrogant hypocrites. So what if the woman's name is Katrina and she was a hurricane?

5. I like the tone. It is, really, the best tone that one can take with...
...these people. They defy reasonable discourse. It reminds me of the Vietnam madness. You just COULDN'T STAND IT ANY MORE, that your country was slaughtering one million Vietnamese, who had done nothing to you--NOTHING!--and was throwing 57,000 Americans into that hell to die, who had NO CHOICE, except to go on the lamb across the border into Canada.

There is just no reasonable discourse than can address these INSANE--and insanely evil and sinful--actions of our government.

Didn't have Diebold and ES&S in those days, though. We still had the right to vote, and we got at least one president to resign (LBJ foregoing a second term). And the other was actually motivated by the antiwar publication of the Pentagon Papers to fund the illegal acts at the Watergate, which brought him down, too.

Public opinion mattered then. It doesn't now--because they've got their "trade secret," proprietary programming code to "tabulate" (i.e., disappear) our votes with.

So the madness is even worse--and requires wild, dark humor to express itself. Thank you, Mr. Morford and SFGate. And LaPera, for posting it.

This some little way redeems the SF Chron for the bag job they did for the Bush Cartel, on CA Sec of State Kevin Shelley (who had sued Diebold, and decertified the worst of their election theft machines, prior to the 2004 election). (Chron took him down.)

Anyway, it keeps your lib base tidy, so you can still hire out now and then, to your corporate masters, to accomplish more vital, strategic tasks.

(Nothing against Morford. Just the Chron.)

6. Your about the only one who seems to have even noticed...

I was screaming for month's about what seemed to me, was the obvious Rove & the republicans created slime tactics and attack on then, democrat CA Sec of State Kevin Shelley...I called Shelly's office begging them to fight back, I sent donations and got little response (although they did keep my donations).

The fucking Chronicle is indeed to blame...they started slow, with their hit pieces, (I ignored them in the beginning) But they started to pick up steam and I had to start paying attention...and it hit hard...like a ton of bricks...Rove was behind it, first with the invisible backing of the recall of then CA democratic Governor Gray Davis and then the attacks on elected democrat Shelley...The man who counts the votes in California...This was a systematic conniving move by Rove, to steal the most populous state in the nation, California, for the future... as they did in Florida, Ohio, Texas, Georgia, etc...

The Chronicle, was the starting point and then others ran with it Sac. Bee, LA Times, SD Union...to this day I'd like to know who started authoring those very first stories in the Chronicle and who was behind them, however, I know I know exaclly who was behind them...

Even in the SFGate polls, Shelley was taking a beating by those stories, I tried to get the word out to the uninformed and the people sucking up all the info from the media as truth. And all they wanted to believe & talk about was some corruption, that THEY FUCKING READ ABOUT the planted sources is only what they recited...

So what did we get? Republican Governor Musclehead, appointing (not elected as Shelley was) a republican Secretary of State who will be counting the votes, as this same appointed republican, is allowing a flood of republican owned electronic voting machines into the state of California...The same machines Shelley was fighting to keep out!!!

Coincidental?
