1. Edit: define or redefine?
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 01:06 PM by TwilightZone
An argument could be made for each. Many people feel that the party message isn't defined enough and others feel that the current message needs to be redefined.

4. My impression is that DU
in just as all over the map and scattershot as the party that spawned it.

This is not necessarily a bad thing.

6. Reminds me of the Will Rogers line...
Something like, "I'm not a member of any organized political party. I'm a Democrat."

That pretty much covers DU. And maybe the party.

5. If it's not, maybe it should.
There are over 76,000 members, even if you discount the freepers and basic trolls that's a rather large number of potential voters and rather vocal and intelligent ones at that. B-)

IMO smart Democratic politicians should at least lurk here to get the REAL pulse of their base as well as REAL information they could USE... of course it wouldn't surprise me if some already do. :hi:

7. Some do. Saw a post the other day from a dem who's trying
to build up his campaign for congress in Illinois. Focus was on national health plan.

I hope Illinois DUers noticed and support.

tells them that he/she doesn't believe 911 was MIHOP or LIHOP!

9. I'm really thinking
The conspiroid fantasies are not such a good thing. More likely to marginalize DU with the party leadership.

10. I think we're helping. Heavyweights pass through here.
A party that doesn't redefine itself periodically by the way, will die.

11. I don't believe the party is becoming more defined
In fact it continues to try to find tactics rather than settling down to a vision or a plan. Perhaps we are lending strength to finding our cause but they don't seem to be taking to it as yet.

12. yes, I think it's helping
The fact that there are some paranoid views or wacky ideas does not distract from the fact that it puts together a lot of different people who represent a fairly broad cross section. That has to help. Just how much, time will tell.

19. Lack of Health Care is what the Dems should run on in 08.
Anyone who voted for * because of Abortion and doesn't have health care would be stabbing themselves in the back.
