I'm always on the lookout for the earlier possible flu shots. Knowing our nazi govt., they'll fsck up the flu vaccines again this year & there'll be another shortage.

If you get flu shots, I would surely recommend you get them early, just in case "something" happens.

3. There should be adequate supplies... |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 03:07 PM by triguy46
Our supplier is delivering the first 20% of our 2500 order next week. However, we won't start giving them till mid October. Earlier is not necessarily better with the flu vaccine. Kind of need to wait till there is flu, then begin.

4. We are seeing some early flu in our area |
|
And last year, if you remember correctly, everything was hunky dory--everyone needs a flu shot, etc, then all the sudden...the bottom dropped out. Just advocating to those THAT do get flu shots...get it earlier than later so they don't get left out.

5. Actually, we knew there was a problem as early as August |
|
last year, when Chiron was shut down in the UK. Within 72 hours Chiron was sending out info that there was going to be a delay. We cancelled our order, immediately went to the other vendor and got 50% of what we needed.
The "everyone needs a flu shot" has always been secondary to those at high risk getting theirs first. last year there was freakin hysteria once it was announced there was a shortage. All of a sudden everyone wanted one. Its hard to justify giving the vaccine to a healthy 25 yo when nursing home patients go wanting.

6. The CDC is not going to start reporting cases until 10-2-05 |
|
Are these lab documented cases of influenza? Or flu like syndromes? We don't even have our flu kits yet.
