Pence (IN - R) "We're winning the war in Iraq."
Is anyone listening to this guy on CSPAN now throwing military jargon around, talking about how we killing 30 for every 1 American lost? An empty suit who got to play soldier for a few days and hang with the generals. He comes across as though war is a game. Boom! Boom! We blow things up. The death isn't real; people just disappear in a poof without leaving blood. Probably plays with his kid's SEGA after the child goes to bed at night.

13. And indeed we are winning the war in Vietnam. It's just taking a little
longer than the cakewalk we expected.

If you think of it, we haven't had a single reverse in that war since 1976! That's progress.

15. It's called crack
He mixes it with LSD and Hash on whole wheat and peanut butter. . .makes a Crack-Plus and peanut butter sandwich. Washes it down with kool aid.

5. IN stands for INSANE
Let's chip in to get him a ticket to Baghdad wearing a Bring em on Tshirt. No need for a return ticket, so it won't be too expensive.

6. I'm listening to this asshat too
I loved the comparison to WWII and how the Japanese lost 200,000 to our 10,00 ... implying that is why we won the war ... just because we won one battle.

"here I am at a Labor Day picnic ... and half of the people playing volley ball there were Iraqis" ..."Which is statement to affirm that we are winning the war". "we are winning the war in Iraq ... and we are winning peace".

What the HELL is this guy smoking?

7. so, with 27 million Iraqis and 150,000 American troops
there will still be plenty of Iraqis left if they keep up the same 30 to 1 kill rate and all the Americans are dead.

9. And if I keep repeating, "My ass is small" it will be true, too!
These people live in Opposite World, I swear. And I can just hear the throngs of sheeple across the country jumping up and down and screaming, "I told you we was winnin'! Those commie bastards! Killin' is awesome because it proves we're on God's side!" WTF? I am growing to hate our country because so many people are so stupid!

End of Rant.

20. Apparently these people also think you can just
CHOOSE to be well-off!

Let's see, I choose to have a huge beautiful cabin in the Catskills, a flat in London (Holland Park, maybe), um, a nice home in Toronto, and a little beach house in northern California.

Hold on, I'm CHOOSING really hard!

Hmm. Doesn't seem to have worked. Did your repeating your ass is small work for you?

10. My parents had a bunch of Reader's Digest magazines circa 1971 or so
Every other one had an article about how the US was winning the war in Vietnam. I used to read those with great amusement.

11. You know, if this guy's philosophy is such a winner, lets declare
war on the starving Nigerians. We'd have a huge margin of victory over people who are already dying of starvation.

If that's our measure of victory, I'm just sayin'...

:sarcasm:

Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 05:30 PM by brettdale
1897 US Troops have been killed, so by my maths and Im no good will hunting, that means the US has killed 56910 Terrorists in Iraq?

I know though Civilian deaths in Iraq since April is over 2500 according to the BBC.

17. How is killing people who never did anything to us
winning ANYTHING?

He needs to explain that. What kind of a world do we live in where killing loads of people who never did anything to us is called "winning."

I call it immoral. I call it losing all sense of humanity.

19. Wow great what a ratio!
What the F**K? I mean this is not an arcade game, you score 30 points for every life killed. This is real life, with real blood and and real limbs blown off, nothing ratio about it. How many arms and legs did it take? They talk of the 30 dead for every 1 American life. What are the stats for a guy who loses his eyes, or arms or legs to the war, does he get any Iraqi lives?

My God The Horror Of It All

After listening to John Conyers, Maxine Waters, Cynthia McKinnley, and others talk about truly important issues such as poverty in the U.S. and the terrible truth about poverty that hurricane Katrina unveiled, I just couldn't listen to this BS.
