I got an idea, what if the word spread like wildfire to boycott
*'s speech tomorrow night. I am not planning on watching it, as I cannot stand even to hear 2 syllables being strung together by this moron. I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same way. What a message it would send if millions of Americans didn't even tune in. Just a thought.

2. I never watch his speeches.
I read the transcripts the next day, or hear excerpts on NPR. Life is too short to sit thru the painful mangling of the english language he inflicts on us all.

3. Why don't we wait several days to see it, just
like ** did in NO. He waited 4 days before giving help and it was asked for. I would do that as a protest for sure.....

5. What a good point, maybe I'm on "Operation Enduring Vacation"
until next week when it's not urgent to see his photo op.

Maybe Dan Bartlett can put together a DVD for me to watch
so I can see for myself how bad it is. . . .

<snip>

The reality, say several aides who did not wish to be quoted because it might displease the president, did not really sink in until Thursday night. Some White House staffers were watching the evening news and thought the president needed to see the horrific reports coming out of New Orleans. Counselor Bartlett made up a DVD of the newscasts so Bush could see them in their entirety as he flew down to the Gulf Coast the next morning on Air Force One.

6. My husband tuned in the last one
against my objections. But he pointed out an important fact-the soldiers who were ordered to listen to his speech didn't show any emotion, and didn't start applause.

8. That is a great idea
Tell them that we have a birthday party to go to and that we are going to be getting a new guitar the next day. We will be ready around Monday or Tuesday, we'll let them know when we can see it.

10. The networks could say the White House screwed up the
paperwork asking for the air time.

9. I never listen to Bush's speeches because they make me
want to put on sackcloth and ashes, however, I don't think BushCo cares. It's just a formality for them. I prefer to read his words of wisdom *cough* on DU as interpreted by DUers.

13. You mean
somebody actually watches those things? I prefer to read the transcript the next day. Better for the blood pressure.
