How to fight Crack in my neighborhood...
Crack is here and there and everywhere in my lovely 'hood.

What to do?! I don't like it. But I don't want to lock anyone up either. I go to the guys who sell crack pipes and ask them not to. Is that wrong? I wrote a letter to my paper. I just don't want it around for reasons I'd rather not get into. Also I don't want to go through the police. What to do?

1. First thing you need to do
Make sure your house or apartment has an alarm, and that you never leave windows open or doors unlocked. Crack addicts become burglars to maintain their habits.

2. I never had that where I live
but only saw it up in Vancouver.. would be tough to cope with that.. too bad they don't just smoke a blunt, and chill out.. or you could .. would relieve your stress a bit.

8. I would rather help try other means first...
Its a bad, stupid drug that is compulsive in nature and having street availability basically preys on the young, the stupid and the lost. All worthy human beings. Jails are not the answer. Basically I just want it out of my face on a daily basis

7. Form a neighborhood association
If you and your neighbors, join forces, you may be able to run them out. Likely, they are renters, so they can pack up go, fairly easily.

Or, call their landlord and nark on them. Let the landlord know, there is damage to the property, police visits, etc. The landlord may evict them. In some states, landlords have certain liability issues to consider, if there is illegal activity in their properties.

OR, tell the drug dealers that you've been contacted by the police, they asked you a lot of questions about them, and it sounded like they are planning a sting on their place. Most crack addicts are paranoid, this may encourage them to split.

9. Document it yourself pictures, activities, burglaries,
then take it to the district attorney.

You might even try and explain how the area has changed because of this new dynamic.
