Briefs: Suspended cop indicted for tampering

A federal grand jury has indicted suspended Plum patrolman Ryan Schneiderlochner on a charge of tampering with a witness, victim or informant.

The indictment alleges that Schneiderlochner, 33, intentionally harassed a victim to prevent that person from testifying in an official proceeding and to hinder that person from reporting to law enforcement the commission of a federal offense.

Authorities have said the case involves a young woman, who has not been identified, and an incident that occurred in July. Details of the case remain sealed.

Schneiderlochner is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday before Federal Magistrate Lisa Pupo Lenihan. He was arrested by the FBI on Sept. 1.

it certainly smells like "witness intimidation" by the perpetrator of a serious crime. Feds would certainly be the agency to prosecute a city or county peace officer who had committed a crime. If you can pull up the Fed Court website you might be able to see the criminal complaint ,if it's been filed, and depending on whether the court is that sophistocated.
