Dems should vote together against Roberts since Bush wounded
pushing up roberts all the way to chief justice was a hail mary pass--and the Dems need to intercept. Although they can't directly block his approval, it would be a major embarrassment to the right if this was even a party line vote.

They could stick the shiv in deeper by saying "We are deeply disappointed that President Bush chose such a bald-faced political partisan extremist. President Reagan and even the PRESIDENT'S FATHER had the wisdom to nominate judges we could all support. The YOUNGER PRESIDENT BUSH failed to learn this important lesson from his father."

A side benefit of this would be to defend themselves, they'd have to say "Dad didn't do that! He put up Clarence Thomas! He was an extremist too!" Thus make the rest of their party look untrustworthy too.

1. I Agree That The Democrats Need To Oppose The Nomination
The illegitimate administration should not be appointing Supreme Court justices.
