I've had the unfortunate opportunity |
|
the last several months to watch our government in action on C-span 1 and 2. I think we have a basic good system of governess just a bunch of sorry a-holes doing the governing.

1. The framework is fantastic... |
|
it's the personalities tearing down the frame that are the problem.

tests that the rest of us have to take to get decent jobs these days.
With how campaigns work in this country, you end up with folks like Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, who probably did little or no thinking, beyond a carefully enscribed circle, all of his life, then he finds himself representing thousands of different kinds of people, thank you National Rifle Association, and suddenly this mental dwarf is delivering powerful reactions to issues like teen pregnancy and War, a man with all of the analytic ability of dog, no insult intended to dogs.

5. I wish we could all watch C-Span. |
|
I think if we all watched a lot of what goes on in government we would have a much better electorate. Unfortunatly that all takes a lot of time and many of us rely on various media outlets to filter it down.

7. i watch CSPAN all the time |
|
You will see some Democrats making good speeches and doing some fighting. Unfortunately, they are badly outnumbered. 100% of the Republicans are scum and 50% of the Dems. But you can use CSPAN to see what damage they are doing and use it against them in future elections.
I wish everyone watched CSPAN.

11. That's a pretty good description of Republicans and Democrats. |
|
Though, I might disagree in the proportions you use, you do explain the paralysis we are seeing. If we make a big deal out of Congressional corruption, there are Dems who will go down, ergo, nothing happens. I say, let's do it!

c-Span. See if you can go to http://c-span.org/ and find a re-run or download or something. Here's a thread on what they were saying: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4770939------------------------------------------------------ URGENT yet easy!
