RAW STORY

Roll Call reports today that Republican lawmakers are considering abandonment of the Social Security reforms that were to be the cornerstone of Bush's second-term agenda. The story, by Ben Pershing and Emily Pierce, quotes "one Senior Republican lawmaker," as saying flatly, "It's over." Excerpts follow:

#
Fearful that tackling Social Security reform could cripple his party in the 2006 elections, National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Reynolds (N.Y.) plans to recommend to his fellow leaders that they shelve the issue for the remainder of the 109th Congress.

2. yep
Even the most diehard Republicans are seeing the light and abandoning a sinking ship before it goes down completely.

It is truly sad that it has taken the lives of ~250,000 persons for this to happen, that is all I can say.

:kick:

5. Here's hoping that's not the only sinking ship they abandon.
I know of one who writes notes to his nanny asking to go to the bathroom in the middle of an important function at the grown-ups' table...

3. Bush has one, and only one, legacy: the do-not-call list
And even that doesn't work. I still get jackass telemarketers calling me day and night regardless of the fact that I re-register for that list constantly.

4. What is with the other story on coffee in Raw Story?
I never did get Rice. She did so poor in her other job I lost it on that women. I did get a kick on Air America this morning as they were talking about the bath room thing and wondered why Bush was not sure he had to go to the bathroom and why ask this women. Can't you see someone asking Powell that?
