Bush's "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't" moment
judging by the conservatives' reaction.

Not that I feel the least bit sorry for the bastard...

1. But he's looking at the polls
and he is pandering to the 60 to 70+ that thinks he screwed up big time in the response -

I hope his base implodes - becasue I think a lot of the 60+% will see this as BS politics trying to save his ass

2. Totally.. There's really nothing he could have said to save his ass
Lots of us have been predicting that Katrina would be *'s downfall, I think this speech sealed the deal. Plus, they're going to screw up even more as rebuilding begins.

5. and just look at the reaction he's already elicited from his
mouthbreathing base

if it weren't so desperately sad for the victims (as well as for the rest of us, who will soon suffer an imploding economy, and likely worldwide economic disaster), it would be amusing

4. exactly...he put himself in an impossible situation by exposing, over
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 08:50 PM by Gabi Hayes
the last few weeks, the utter incomptence of his administration, in a way that was IMPOSSIBLE for the MSM to paper over as they've done so effectively for the last four and a half years

911 happened too early, and was too whatever a moment for most americans to deal with, so he got off scott free on that one

the war was starting to turn the sheep against him, despite MSM's herculean efforts on his behalf, and this one did the final job of exposing the emperor's lack of clothing, once and for all

nothing he says or does will have any credibility, because, if you think the war's eventual effect on the economy will be bad, just triple or quadruple that, if you give any credence to the chimpromises of tonight

we are SO very screwed

talking major third world devolution here, folks
