Blast from the past, a quote to sum up Bush
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 02:02 AM by FreedomAngel82
I love watching old speeches from older conventions. I'm now watching Jesse Jackson's 2000 address (what a wonderful speech) and he said something that is sooo true. He said, "We should look into his heart but whatever is in his heart, the question is what is in his budget. He says he'll leave no one behind. This race isn't about race or religion it's about resources distribution and priorities." and then he named some groups who need help.

2. Me too
I googled for DNC speeches from 2000 and found this great site that had all the speeches from 2000. You can see them at http://abletv.net/html/csDNC2000.html

The page has some other stuff there as well. You need real player.

3. I attended the 1984
convention in San Francisco. I remember Jesse's speech, not a dry eye in the house. What happened to our party. What happened to our country.

:patriot:

4. The 1984 DNC? Oh, well, then you heard Cuomo . . .
what a speech did Mario Cuomo make!!! I've often said that Cuomo should be sitting on the U.S. Supreme Court . . . what a terrific way to balance this Court. Cuomo, the liberal, versus Scalia, the crimped, narrow, and closed-minded.

5. Thanks for the link!
It's not easy being a Democrat. I just get older and more cynical. The country didn't listen to the voice of reason then and now we're damned. I never thought we would sink so low. Cuomo's speech is prophecy. We where warned.

6. I have a broad and deep admiration for Mario Cuomo . . .
and that speech with his formidable presence was all that being a Democrat has ever meant. Yes, he was prophetic that day.

As for an old cynic? Nah, just getting wiser.
