Where are the millionaires?
All these people who got the massive BushCo tax cuts -- Big Dawg included -- where the fuck are you? Who is stepping up to the plate to give it back? To stand in front of a mic and say "This was WRONG when Bush gave it to me, and in this time of crisis, it would be wrong for me to keep the money."

Anyone. Goddam Hollywood actors, Wall Street brokers, Manhattan socialites, suburban McMansion dwellers, dems, republicans, Bush haters, Bush lovers, where the hell are you? Clinton can whine all he wants about the tax cut he got, but did he write a check and give it back?

I sense another day of grrrrrrrrr coming on!

2. You just don't get it do you, millionaires are millionaires precisely
....because the keep what they earn and don't give any of it away, whether it's in the form of taxes or charities or investments. unless they are absolutely certain it will earn them more wealthy than they are giving away!

As for billionaires, well same idea only a thousand times more intense.

Bill Clinton is giving of himself, so I don't fault him in anyway. I certainly would not want his monthly legal fee obligations, that's for sure.

8. Some Use That Tax Break For Good Things
I have a very good friend who is a millionaire several times over. He is a "dot commer"...built up his own tech company in the 90's and cashed out.

He has taken every tax break he gets and donates that money to either a worth non-profit organization...Habitat For Humanity, NARAL, ACLU and so on. Last year, he took the entire tax break and contributed the money to John Kerry.

The tax breaks for those in the lower brackets did help. Those are the Joe Sixpacks and dittoheads that got a few buck back or paid a couple bucks less on their taxes and feel like a Cheshire cat.

Not all millionaires are country club Repugnicans. Some of that tax rebate did go to help good people and causes.

10. you said it........
I've heard a handful of these rich people (celebrity types) on TV, thinking they're slamming BushCo by saying how much $$ they received in tax cuts....as if they need it. What they failed to follow up with is saying that they used it for something to better society.

Didn't that financial guy....oh gosh, I can't think of his name, but he's like "the" financial/investment person....a rather older gentleman. Anyway, whoever he is, I recall hearing that he either offered to return his cut or he actually did.

11. Wow, I posted something similar to this
a couple weeks ago and had a bunch of people crawl up my ass about it. Maybe the board was overrun by millionaires that day?

Let's get all these celebrities who have been sticking their big mugs into the camera to say what a terrible tragedy this is, and ask them for a generous contribution. Many already have, but just not enough of them.

Has Curt Schilling given anything yet? He seems to have political aspirations, god help us all.

14. The Virgin Records guy wants to BUILD HIS OWN OIL REFINERY
Out of his own pocket. To help control fuel costs for his airline.

God fucking dammit, that is a SHITLOAD of money. He could build an entire village for thousands of people with that kind of dough, and leave one hell of a lasting legacy.

15. Or he could use that money
to help come up with a better alternative to oil. That would help humanity far more than an oil refinery in the long run.

You're right though. That is a fucking HUGE amount of money.

HUGH!!!!!!1!1!!!

13. Wasn't there some big female celebrity who said something like that?
...something about the cost of the reconstruction and her "certainly not needing" the Bush tax cuts?
