Did anyone else hear Joe Biden on Imus this Morning? What did you think? |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 08:59 AM by KoKo01
I didn't catch all of it. Seemed Imus was having a town hall kind of thing or at least there were people being shown in an audience. I turned it off after Biden. What I heard of Biden sort of left me :eyes:

1. I didn't have to see it. |
|
Whatever Biden did, he was just showboating. He'll return home and hop back into the sack with BushCo

2. Biden always does that to me. |
|
He tries to have it both ways.
I'm curious about Imus's take on all this -- I don't listen to him much, but his POV is sometimes surprising.

5. Joe can just FORGET IT |
|
He is running in 08, but he thinks that if he does GOP Lite, it will work. Not post-Katrina, it won't. And if he does get any traction, he will be torn to shreds over two relatively small things--the fact that he stole a speech from Neil Kinnock many years ago, and got caught at it, and the fact that he has hair plugs. Those hair plugs got more play when he got them than when Dick Gephardt dyed his eyelashes and eyebrows when he ran years back.
Imus was at a racetrack in New Hampshire, where they are having one of those car races this weekend--supposedly a big deal for fans of that sort of thing.

11. That NASCAR crap, I believe--it is a big deal to those who like it |
|
He was being simulcast on a NH country station as well.
Hey, if people like it, fine...but I did notice that everyone, every single person, in that audience was FAT AS HELL. One of Imus's acolytes on the show made a remark about it, and when they panned the audience, damn, it looked for all the world like a Weight Watchers' meeting.
They'd be better off doing a few laps around that track on foot, as opposed to watching the cars go round and round. Better for their health, surely....

6. Has there been ANY reaction to this speech?? |
|
Honest to god, I did not watch him last night or any of the post-speech media whores. This a.m. I see nothing but a laundry list of what he said. I don't even see moring 'reactions' being posted here at DU. What was the general media whore conclusions----did he hit one out of the park OR did he trip over the bat and knock his teeth out?????

7. Biden never tells the truth. He only says what people want to hear |
|
He does the same thing Republicans do. Biden is smart enough to realize that Republicans know how to win elections. He probably will be our next president.

8. They ALL can learn a lesson from Bush speech last night. |
|
He is NOT going to win over liberals by trying to say what we want to hear. And in the process he betrays and loses his base.
Priority list should be:
1) Please your base.
2) Try and win over independents, undecideds, moderates without betraying your base.
3) Don't bother to try and win their base...it'll never happen. Only Bush can lose his base...we can't win them.
