Check out three links in Gulf Coast region to see how Bush's speech did
These are the three news sites I've been scanning for hurricane news. The first two are on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

This is the local paper. No mention of Bush's speech on the home page.

Same with the television station:

Now, check out the New Orleans tv station. They mention Bush's speech front and center, but look at the picture they post of Bush. Think they are happy with him?

11. Well, I wouldn't go with the crude bathroom imagery
But he's definitely got the expression of someone trying to squeeze out something larger than the orifice it needs to exit. I was thinking more like a thought bigger than his brain, or a sum of money bigger than the US pocketbook.

13. AWWW, they took it down. Now none of the three have Bush's speech
on the front page. I'd say they don't believe him anymore.

3. Yoiks
Maybe he should have taken a potty break before the speech.

A friend of mine in Mobile says that no one is getting any kind of help. She thinks if that doesn't change soon, there could be violence.

6. What part of Mobile needs help?
We drove from Gulfport over to Mobile to eat and buy supplies. The city seemed pretty normal. What part of Mobile is in trouble? Does she mean south, around Bayou Labatrie and Dauphin Island? I've wondered how they faired. I know both were flooded.

14. I think she was talking about Mississippi
Her roof needs repair, and FEMA said she was eligible for some blue plastic, and that's it. All her husband's clients were destroyed, and he's lost his business, but they say he isn't qualified for unemployment.

I think the stories she was telling me were about Mississippi. She said they were going to go down there with supplies this weekend. (A victim having to help other victims!) She said people are walking around there like zombies. They have no help, and no one is telling them what to do. She says FEMA and the insurance companies are telling them, "You're on your own, pal" and that if things don't change it could get ugly.

If I lives in any of the 3 states effected, I'd run for the hills. This is going to be the biggest boondoggle ever!

7. Yep. Like the last reconstruction plan. Rich carpetbaggers, poor locals
The South generates a lot of money, but it all goes out of region. This will make it worse.
